Sherwin Williams Cashmere VS PPG Silkin Touch -Interior Painting Reviews

Interior paint is the most advertised, fluffed up and “snake oiled” item of all paint products. The reason for this is that more homeowners do their own interior painting instead of hiring professional interior painters. Grants Painting provides interior painting in Indianapolis, Greenwood, Fishers, Zionsville,  and Carmel. Here we will share our knowledge on pitting PPG Silken Touch against Sherwin Williams Cashmere.

PPG Silken Touch Vs Sherwin Williams

  • Adhesion – TIE. Adhesion is acceptable for both products. We have not noticed enough of a difference to mean anything.
  • Sufactant leeching and paint wetting – The win goes to Silken Touch. However Cashmere is not far behind. Both paints will perform well in most situations.
  • Coverage (opacity of dried finish) – The win goes to Cashmere for coverage. You will always need less paint with Sherwin Williams Cashmere.
  • Scrubability/Cleanable. Scrubablity goes only to Silken Touch. This may be because of the slightly higher sheen.
  • Color Choices- Cashmere is the winner because Sherwin Williams is the clear winner for color selection.
  • Finished appearance – Cashmere levels out slightly better than Silken Touch.

If rolled out properly both products will deliver a great finish! At Grants Painting we currently use Sherwin Williams Cashmere in 90 percent of the interior painting jobs that we do. The only time we choose Silken Touch is in humid adverse conditions.
